EIRNIN JEFFORD FRANKS
About Me
When I was 21 I moved to Iceland to start my MA in Viking and Medieval Norse Studies. Since then, my path has taken me back and forth between Iceland and Denmark before leading me back to London. Along the way, I learnt everything I could about the Vikings and gender, specialising in queerness and religion.

Back in London, I continued working on Vikings and gender alongside full time jobs in queer activism, policy, diversity and inclusion, and trans rights. Through this work, I am also a specialist in trans policy, with published work coming soon.

I have peer-reviewed articles in various stages of publication; I am the founding General Editor of the journal Kyngervi; I run the podcast and TikTok channel Vikings Are Gay; I have written for various outlets; I have provided historical consultancy; and I have delivered workshops and guest lectures internationally. In my free time, I tend to my 50+ houseplants, and enjoy cooking tasty meals to feed my loved ones.

My skillset is wide, but at the heart of it lies a core intention: to make the world a safer, happier, better place for everyone through uncovering queer histories, challenging discrimination in the process.
